Well Laura Ashley, despite not being everyone's fave brand, for me, I pretty well love it. I'm a real sucker for long-standing British brands and Laura Ashley to me is synonymous with my childhood and watching my mother loving the brand. Now being soon-to-be 30 (in Feb) I can't help but feel the same affection. Laura Ashley home wear is pretty much YUMMY (yes, I would eat it if I could) and their fashion is moving higher on my radar with every collection, and I tell ya what, SS14 is looking like a real revelation for Laura Ashley.
With soft, muted pastel shades, the new transition collection is just perfect for work wear - day wear, which for me is something I always struggle with and feel like I have two completely separate wardrobes for both of these things. With the SS14 collection at Laura Ashley they have combined both these looks by using soft geo's with clever colour blocking, spots and checks whilst adding in short, sharp vibrant colours on details. Shapes are kept feminine, but kept up to date with use of print. I especially love the contrast spot dress - both ideal for the office but also more than suitable for lunch out with the girls - it's bright red belt adds a welcome pop of colour and the colour block shirt is made for teaming with leather trousers - LOVE! Wanna have a looksie?
