Scribbles Views: Falling in love with Cellardoor Magazine

I have quite a few habits, well, in fact, too many - some that are safe to mention, and some we best not. However one of my insane habits has to be my fixation with fashion & lifestyle magazines. Not unusual for most people I should expect, however my obsession gets worse as I never chuck any old editions out - never! Instead, I collect them, or rather hoard them, in the hope that someday I'll get to read them all over again, although due to sheer size of the collection and there not being enough time in the world, I have now come to the conclusion that maybe I should decorate my house in them!

As the obsession grew, I realised that it was costing me a small fortune, that could quite frankly, be used for buying the lust-have items in them instead - my cure was to ask every member of family and friends to get me a magazine subscription for birthday or Christmas! Oh yes, I found a way to feed my habit! However as I have slowly run out of present-giving friends and family, I have turned my attentions to online magazines.

The beauty of an online magazine, is there's no real additional cost, you can zoom in and zoom out, you can view it over and over again, you don't have to lug it around in your teeny tiny handbag and most of all the content is amazing!! My latest must-have read is the truly sumptuous Cellardoor Magazine.

Cellardoor is a quarterly online magazine that will blow your mind once read for the first time. The secret and magic with Cellardoor is the unique way they have managed to handle both on trend fashions and styling, but also takes on music, lifestyle, film and art to give every young and old(er) girl something really worthwhile to read. I came across Cellardoor through Twitter and before I knew it I was logging on in sheer anticipation of the next edition!

The current edition out, is their "Summer of Love" issue, and this edition could not get any dreamier if it tried! What I adore about Cellardoor is the photography and the feel that it gives off. Projected in a dream-like stance, using very soft focuses on their photography it contains everything that pleases the eye and more.
The photos are idyllic, both the backgrounds and scenery create almost a sensual feel. I often lose myself in studying the illustrations and photography.

The layout is easy to follow - it's almost like a thought-process. Stories lead on nicely from each other and then in between the stories is a snapshot of what Cellardoor are thinking or doing - its so eclectic.
This is no ordinary "fashion" magazine, the articles are well thought and well written. A few of my faves this edition is the "Handbag Envy"story - something that speaks to every woman and is written just like you were in mid conversation with your best friend.

It also features a fab interview with everyone's favourite: Wild Fox - insightful with a bit of fun! Also have a good read of the "Leader of the Cool Kids" I'm now just a little obsessed with Wren.

The fashion spreads are projected to the reader in a personable way, the products used are accessible and affordable and doesn't exclude the high street or designer end.

All in all, this is a fantastic read, it's firmly on the top of my list to read and is highly anticipated when its released every quarter - so go on people, go show Cellardoor some 'online-magazine-love' Check them out here and their new edition can be found here

Until next time...

I've never really been into online mags much but actually found cellardoor the otherday! My course's blog did a post on it and apparently the girls that run it are graduates of my course! :) It's great and so pretty :) xxx

Totally have mag addiction to! I got to the point where I just had to start keeping scrapbooks of things I liked from them (I know people will scream at me for doing it but I have never lived in a big place!)

Cellardoor is really cool, I am only just getting into online mags but I am becoming a convert!
